Cosplay is art to me nothing more nothing less

I found this image and really find it amazing, it is like an album cover of Goth metal band but it is a Final Fantasy cosplay image. One of the best images I seen in cosplay photography, the use colour is fantastic and not forgetting the costume and make up is pure win. It really is mechanical looking. Very inspirational.

Let yourself go, act in the moment.

Today I had a wonderful photoshoot with photographer Maik Sinkovec who Mechanic Geisha recommended, she is a wonderful alternate model. :) I done the photoshoot as Rei Ayanami as an angel. I don't want to go into to much detail as I don't want to spoil it.:p

I really did have a good time. Maik was very pleasant and gave me tips on posing. He told me to do awkward poses like arching my back, dropping one shoulder and trying to stand on my tippy toes. I was in pain but Maik told me to achieve the best poses and to make a viewer stop and look at your photo you most do awkward and painful poses (well not too painful that you are dying) :p This is because your pose will look different and unusual and you won't just look like you are standing there, not knowing what to do. So I learned something new today. Maik also put me at ease, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and felt relaxed. I really learned alot from him. Maik also showed me some of the shots on his computer screen to give me an idea on the look we are going for and the photos looked really good. His studio was different too and some of it was like a film setting with a torture chair and one part of the studio had Victorian furniture which is very creative.

I think I achieved what I wanted from this shoot as I didn't want to be limited on how I was gong to act which I learned from experience from a previous shoot. I know I was Rei and she is emotionless and wouldn't pose much but as I was an angelic angel so I wanted to let go and be somewhat out of character yet keep Rei's personality there which I hopefully achieved. I also wanted to model as Rei yet see my own personality there as this was what Maik was getting at. I even found this shoot would benefit me while posing for photos at cons as I could let lose. I defiantly see myself getting more confident and learning. I will be doing another shoot with Maik again sometime in the future. I would defiantly recommend any model or cosplayer to shoot with him.

I just hope you guys and girls will like these photos, I am looking forward to seeing them. :)

Boys get discovered as winter melts Flowers competing for the sun

Years go by and I'm here still waiting Withering where some snowman was
Mirror mirror where's the crystal palace
But I only can see myself

Snow can wait I forgot my mittens

These photos were taken in Merrion Square, Dublin. It was suppose to be a Christmas Rei Ayanami photoshoot. Snow was everywhere and oh my god what a sight the park was in, it was just all blankets of snow and it was very pretty. It was a very picturesque. It was a very magical scene like in one of the Narnia movies. It was a fun photoshoot but I was freezing as you can see in my face. ;p Thanks to my friend Stephen aka Hybridchild for taking these pretty and magical photos. As I said in an earlier post, as a cosplayer I am inspired by song lyrics that match the character. I decided to put the lyrics Winter by Tori Amos in with these photos not because the song suits Rei but the song really suits the setting, as while the photoshoot was going on all I could think was the song Winter. A beautiful song matching a beautiful setting.
