The things all these have in common is there is a sub culture in each in their own way but they are not only a sub culture but all are the art of self expression, escapanism, and to be themselves. These all show one's creative side.

Eir-ta-kon

I am just back from an amazing weekend. The cosplay events ran smoothly. I really enjoyed the fashion show, conversing with attendees and the night events. My biggest highlight was freaking people out with my red eye contacts and it is really surreal when I look back over the photos and see myself with red eyes they really add to the cosplay. I was scared of wearing eye contacts and now I am wearing them. I will upload more photos from Eirtakon later when I recover, but for now I will leave you with this picture of me in my Rei cosplay, with Asuka and my friends. It really was a memorable weekend.

Hold on boys not there yet

I got my new wig which is the perfect colour so hopefully I can style it as good as the wig above and I got used to the red lenses. I just need to better the make up abit and need to fix the eyebrows but other then that I am all sorted. Only two more days left until Eirtakon. ^^

Ok I finished my studies after 5 long years but where do I go now? I had made my decision to achieve my dream, get a cosplay portfolio together and do a dress making course in the new year so I can make my own costumes and get myself out there, visiting expos and conventions but I need a good freaken job to achieve all this. I have a job at the moment but it is not great, it is pretty much casual work. Then my parents are at me that I have a degree and I should be focusing on getting something out of it instead of sitting around or worrying too much about my cosplay portfolio but it is something I am passionate about so it is hard. Also my degree is not specialised, it is a broad arts degree so it is hard to know what I can go into. We know, we know that parents just want what is best for us.

I bumped into an old school mate the other day who also finished college and he says that he moved to London to try and find work, as there are no jobs here. Yeah you constantly hear people around you, "oh the recession there are no jobs," I guess you just have to get yourself out there and look for it. He feels that he is stuck in a limbo and I somewhat feel that way too.. Well at least I have something and an interest which keeps me target driven. I plan to go to the Career Fair this month and find something just to shut some people up then concentrate on my portfolio and getting to my gaol.

It is strange... I actually feel like a kid who dreams of becoming a rock star and her parents are at her to get a good job like a lawyer or an accountant. A limbo..

A future cosplay I must do.

Well em... the ass would be more covered then that. My list of future cosplays just keeps on growing and growing, I have even gone over my collection of future cosplays and deleted some of the characters or costumes as I just know I won't get everything done. I had my eye on this figure for a while and would love to make a costume out of it. I haven't been a fan of the Rei figure but I really like this Asuka figure and think it would make a good cosplay indeed. :-)

I really like these photos from amazing cosplayer Koyuki who I met on cure and look up to. I especially love this photo, it is like a goth, psycho doll version of Miku Hatsune. I love the photography as well. I love the shadow. It is like Miku meets Marilyn Manson.

The claw is a nice touch and is original. Most cosplay photos of Miku display her as cute, moe, maybe firtaous so it is is nice to see a cosplayer give her a different twist. This is a cosplay style I really like, cosplaying as a cute girl yet give her a dark, twisted, goth look. I am very inspired by these photos and would love to get a photo similar to the first one.
