I came across this video a few days ago. It is titled a Cosplayer's Story and is Chinese made, I think. It is in three parts. I stumbled across this video while working on the cosplay panel for Eirtakon and as much as gay and happy it is, it is quite a good watch. It is a very well done piece of film and it is very true what it says about cosplay. The story is pretty much about a girl who does sewing with her mam and has a boring life. Then she meets a girl called Vicky who is in the middle of doing a Sheryl Nome cosplay photoshoot and she needs someone to fix her dress. Then the main girl gets sucked into the world of cosplay and her life has completely transformed.
From watching this film I feel it is very true. I feel that cosplay has transformed my life and I would love to stress the kick and enjoyment people get out of it. I know it is only a hobbie but from reading other cosplayer's expereince from the Otacool 2 book cosplay has actually bettered people. It gives people confidence and makes one creative. My confidence has build up so much because of it and it shows.

Raining Blood.
Acid Eyes.
Acid dreams.
Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Awaiting reprisal
Death will be their acquittance
The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone
Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now I shall reign in blood
Strange little pleasures.

Brocon Pics, bare with me long post but you will be happy in the end.
Pictures from Brocon. It was a pity I didn't have my good camera as the lens got damaged beforehand so I had to leave my lens to be repaired. Therefore we had to make do with Stephen's compact camera, which done the job. The lens on his camera are abit damaged so sorry for the bad quality in some of the photos.
Stupid mirror shot, after getting into my costume. This is the most clear photo. Misato works her magic.
The artist alley.
The Dealers Hall.
The gamers.
Lots of plushes and goodies. Yeah...
The guest Francesca Dani's panel.
The cosplayers in the contest.
The two winners of the contest posing with Francesca.
Misato-san eating her chips.
Rev the camera man. This was Saturday night.
Mark who came down with Stephen and I being pleasant.
A drunkan photo of me.
Brocon staff or committee (not sure) being the PA for the charity auction. It really was a fun night.
Six bottles of beer on the wall. One falls down, now there are five bottles of beer on the wall..
Hungover. Oooh do I have to... Stupid work.
Tenchi! I loved this anime when it was back on Cartoon Network. Brings back good times.
The Dealers Hall on the Sunday, it seemed busier then Saturday.
Art from the artist alley.
Misato-san poses with the Iron Man.
Of course I never forget the fan service. ;-)
Welcome to Ireland. ;-p
Things I am sorry I didn't do while at Brocon;
1. I am sorry I didn't bring my Otacool 2 Cosplayers Worldwide book to get an autograph of Francesca and get a photo with her.
2. I am sorry I didn't buy that manga which caught my eye. It had a white cover and an alluring, cheeky schoolgirl wearing a summer sailor fuku uniform. I flicked through it and found it interesting but never got around to buying it. I was drawn to the main character, the way she looked and maybe because em.... of her eechi-ness. I should look out for it.

Make This Easy It's Not As Heavy As It Seems
I had a very eventful weekend. Tori Amos was amazing live. She really gives her all and shows such great passion for her talent. I recorded some videos and was surprised with some of the quality of the videos as I recorded the videos using a HTC Smart. The sound is really good but in some of the videos the quality isn't great, well.... I think that is down to me continuously shaking the phone as my hand got tired and I was looking at Tori through my own eyes, yet holding the camera. ;-p She started the concert with the song Bouncing off Clouds, which can be seen in this video.
She done a nice soft version of the song. She played a few songs from Little Earthquakes and done different versions. Please excuse the camera shake and my horrible singing. ;-p
It was great that she played Precious Things, as it is one of my favourite songs and she played it amazing.
She played a slow version of Winter and I love the way she sung;
Hair is grey
And the fires are burning
So many dreams
On the shelf
It really was a great night and memorable. I had great fun at Brocon too. It was great to see some cosplayers and I enjoyed judging the masquerade. The crowd at the con were nice. The guest Francesca Dani seemed nice and it was interesting some of the things she said about cosplay getting more and more competitive. Saturday night was a blast being at the charity auction. Anna who is a Swedish manga artist done a panel on manga artists in Sweden which I enjoyed. I really did had fun at it and fair play to the committee and staff for running a good con.

Excuse Me But Can I be You For Awhile.
I came across this while in work the other day. In work as we sit at a desk all day and dial numbers we have note pads to jot down information. To fight off our insanity some of us doodle on the job and out of boredom I was flicking through the notepad and found this.
I really love reading stuff like this. I really do. If you are finding it hard to read it, it reads;
I love my life.
My life is amazing.
I am so blessed to have a precious life
I am so happy and grateful
all my wishes came through.
Who ever wrote it, you made my day. :-)

Insult To Injury
Over the last couple of months I am beginning to absolutely love dreadfalls. I love the neon colour of them, the tangles and they are just very striking.
I am beginning to appreciate and respect cyper goths as they are very colourful and are very creative like cosplayers. I love those furry leg warmers and the googles. I don't know is it just me but I just find that they is a lack of alternate cosplay and lack of dreadfalls. Ok I know many anime characters don't suit dreadfalls but I have come across cosplays of anime characters or fictional, who I think would look really amazing with dreadfalls. When I see these cosplays I have a giant urge to cosplay as that character with deadfalls just to show how striking it can look on anime characters.
Seeing these girls in dreadfalls and googles, I really want to do a Miku Hatsune cosplay in bright neon blue dreadfalls and googles.
Ok, I am no fan of Vocaloid and have no idea what it is all about but when I came across Miku's outfit, I just though her outfit would make an amazing cyber goth cosplay, even though many people would argue she is not cyber goth but I really think she can pull it off. I always like to add abit of originality to my cosplays and I haven't yet come across anyone who done a cyber goth version of the Vocaloid characters, even though they would really pull it off in my own opinion.
As far as I know, dreadfalls are easy enough to make, so if I just check out an online tutorial, I will give it go making them. I won't make the outfit as it is too flashy and would just buy it online or at an convention. If I get the hang of making dreadfalls, I would love to make yellow ones for my bumble bee costume which I wore back at Halloween and wear furry leg warmers with it. For Miku I would like to wear furry leg warmers too. To be honest if I go ahead with this cosplay I would maybe not cosplay as Miku in public and would only cosplay in this outfit for photoshoots or if someone was organising a Vocaloid gathering or photoshoot, as I don't want to betray fans. I would be only cosplaying as Miku because I am drawn to the outfit. I have also come across other striking costumes from Vocaloid which I would love to add dreadfalls and googles too. It is not set in stone if I will do this cosplay, I think it all depends if I can make dreadfalls and on time of course.

The Power Of Orange Knickers.
I am back listening to Tori Amos's album, The Beekeeper, I remember listening to it a few years back and not liking it. I always thought it never had a patch on her older stuff and on her powerful album Little Earthquakes but now listening to it, I like it. It is funny when we listen to something again you like it and your perception changes. The album is a lot happier in contrasts to Little Earthquakes and I realise it does have wonderful songs on it.
Well that was a bit random but I wanted in this post to show some simple and interesting photos I took over the years. The power of simple things and appreciating the simple things in life. :-)
My sister took the above Ladybird picture. I really like it. Do check out her blog she is just as artistic. :-)
